RENTER BEWARE: Hey renters, Beware if you plan to rent from the landlord named “Thanh Thi Dan Nguyen” at 8041 Chalet Place in Mira Mesa, San Diego, CA 92126. You may not get any of your security deposit back. After I moved out, not only did the landlord fail to return my deposit or any itemization within the 21 days deadline, she was very rude about it. This woman made up falsifying claims over text messages in order to justify her keeping all the money. I tried to reason with her and showed evidence to challenge her claims but she unreasonably disregarded them. I recommend protecting yourselves by understanding the CA landlord-renter laws if you plan to or are currently renting. Small claim court is also one way to resolve civil disputes.
