I did not rent Elizabeth Cheeley's loft in San Francisco (1097 Howard St, #304 San Francisco), but I gave her a deposit to begin renting at a later date. The lease contract has a definitive clause stating I can cancel the lease before the move-in date and receive my full deposit back. I did cancel because after further investigation of the neighborhood, I realized the area was surrounded by homeless encampments. However, even a full month after I notified her of my decision to cancel the lease (prior to move-in date), she has not refunded my deposit. Do NOT rent from this landlord!
