It’s very disappointing that after speaking with the regional manager, I wasn’t able to terminate my lease WITHOUT penalty. Considering all the ongoing issues and changes that no one asked for, I’d say it’s justified. The only options he gave me was to either sign a brand new lease with another Camden community or give Camden a 60 day notice and pay double our rent. This is absolutely ridiculous. This apartment complex is NOT fulfilling the agreements of my lease.

We pay $200+ parking expecting it to be safe yet there’s shady people walking around, cars getting broken into and cars getting stolen. We pay a pet fee and the dog parks are not cleaned properly. I pay water to have no hot water during the winter. (The regional manager told me that it’s normal to have no hot water in the colder months which I find VERY odd because I’ve spoken to other residents as well as others who live in the DC area and have never had an issue with their water.) elevators are constantly breaking down. The length of time the issue goes unresolved shows neglect on behalf of management. It has been very frustrating considering that we’ve waited for the elevator countless of times and by the time it reaches our floor it’s always full to its capacity. The L st garage door was broken for over a month and it was very inconvenient to have to use pierce street while there was construction and general traffic going on. And now we’re getting rid of a concierge on our side of the building as well as having a package room on the other side of the building where any resident can access at anytime risking packages going missing and all Camden says is that they’re not liable.

Issues go unresolved for months and they make decisions without asking how the tenants feel first.

This is unacceptable and unprofessional

 Do better Camden.

Questioning the Camden NoMa Apartment ...
Questioning the Camden NoMa Apartment building safety and the maintenance up-keeping or lack of thereof. There has been a consistent sewage water flooding on the Phase 2 B3 garage over the years and as of recently biweekly to month occurrences. Sometimes this happens after a bad storm sometimes it happens when it’s bright and sunny. The garage smells like hot *****. The Camden Management is fully aware but unfortunately has not be able to resolved this consistent issue or refuses to solve it. Camden Management once told the residents that 2 of 3 pumps had broke only after an uproar from the residents of Phase 2 when we kept losing water for almost 24 hours at a time. They claimed they fixed it only for later the residents complained that their water and sewage bill was high. Camden claimed that DC Water never read the meters in Phase 2, same building with the water and sewage issue, and they was only providing residents with estimates. Most of the residents believe this was a cover up to charge the residents to replace the pumps and the mass exodus of residents who left the building. To this day, they cannot accurately and effectively explain the sudden increase of the sewage bill. Consistently, Camden Management never provides emails to residents of any maintenance issues and they never accept any responsibility for the building falling apart because they never did any preventive maintenance. There has also been a weird gas smell on Phase 2 and residents were complaining, again, Camden Management only responded after another uproar that they allegedly called the Fire Department and Washington Gas and they didn’t detect a gas leak. As of this day, residents are still complaining about the gas smell and Camden Management has stop responding. This building is so bad that Camden Management doesn’t even live here. They do not care about the resident’s safety and only cares about the money. Just ask yourself this question if Management doesn’t live here, then why should you?
