The Barac Company is as close to a slum lord as a landlord can get while being legal. They've crossed the line a few times by sending reps without 24 hours notice and have tried to make me pay for repairs that are clearly not my responsibility. That said I've dealt with worse but the bottom should never ever be the comparison point. In my buildilng each unit's water heater and central heater are inside the unit in the kitchen meaning I pay for all of my gas usage. Initially my water heater was so old that it made noises whenever I used hot water and water would come out rust red from the pipes. It wasn't until I posted a video of that on social media that they replaced my water heater. A good example is when my refrigerator was acting up and they replaced it within hours while I wasn't home. I came home and everything was in there just as I had left in in the old fridge but in the new one, I was impressed. In general they will do their part but will also try to save money and get more out of you. Don't be afraid to go to the tenant authority and have them clear them up, also don't be afraid to simply stand up for yourself. All said and done, you get what you pay for and the price is right for me.
